LYNCHBURG, Virginia--- Bermudian Shaquille Dill, a Sophomore at St. Augustine's University, set an 800m NCAA Indoor qualifying time at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex this past weekend.
Dill posted a 1:52.53 time which was 2nd out of 52 competitors in the event. His time was two seconds faster than his previous performance back in December at the JDL College kick-off Classic.
Shaquille now sits at 8th in the Indoor Division II rankings at 800m.
WINSTON SALEM, NORTH CAROLINA---Shaquille Dill, a sophomore at the University of St. Augustine's (FL), has provisionally qualified for the NCAA DII Indoor National Track and Field Championships in the 800 meters after his performance of 1:54.73 on Saturday to open the season.
Dill finished 2nd out of 43 competitors in the event. Since the time was run on a flat track (un-banked), his performance converted to a 1:53.12 for qualifying purposes.
The NCAA DII provisional standard is 1:53.7.
Dill stands at 2nd in the NCAA DII Individual rankings for the event. He was also part of the winning St. Augustine's 4x400 relay team which ran a nation DII-leading 3:15.59c mark.
